The Town Treasurer is an elected position and serves a two (2) year term.  Her main duties include collecting property taxes, issuing dog licenses and overseeing the Town's monies.

Dog Licenses:  

Licenses are due after January 1 of the current year.  Fees are $13.00 per male or female dog and $8.00 per each neutered male or spayed female dog.  Penalties are assessed after April 1 (add $25.00 per dog to the fee).  Click on this link to get your 2013 Dog License application.  Proof of rabies vaccination is also required at the time of registration. 

Hobby Kennel Licenses:

Town of Vernon Ordinance #11 requires a Hobby Kennel License for more than 2 dogs.  License Year begins January 1.  All dogs 5 months or older must be licensed before April 1 to avoid a $25.00 penalty.  Click on the link for a Hobby Kennel Application, please fill out and return to the clerk's office for an appointment with the Town Planner.
