IMPORTANT INFO: Property Tax Info & Collection Info

State of WI = $0.00? As noted on the 2017 tax bill backer, the State of Wisconsin no longer imposes the forestation state tax.  Therefore, this line item on the front of the tax bill shows the tax amount for 2017 as $0.00.

Tax Bill Fun Fact:
Waukesha County is responsible for mailing out the 2017 TOV Tax Bills.  Tax bills typically get sent out early to mid-December.  Be sure to look for them in your mailbox during that time or you may view them on-line at the Waukesha County Treasurer site.  UPDATE: Tax bills have been mailed out as of December 1, 2018.

Tax  Collection at Town Hall:  For your convenience the following dates and times were established for paying your taxes in person at the Town of Vernon located at W249 S8910 Center Drive.  (You may pay taxes at the Town Hall on days not listed, however we are unable to accept cash and the Treasurer will mail you a receipt.)  Other options and additional property tax collection information can be found here:  Tax Collection Info

Tax Payment Checklist:
♦ Be sure your check is made out to Town of Vernon or Laureen Dashek, Treasurer.
♦ Be sure the written dollar amount is the same as the numerical dollar amount.
♦ Please check endorsements on escrow checks and personal checks.
♦ Please enclose the top portion of the tax bill with your payment.
♦ Please include your phone number in the event we need to contact you regarding your tax payment.

DO NOT INCLUDE ANY OTHER PAYMENT ON YOUR PROPERTY TAX CHECK PAYMENT (i.e. Dog License or Burn Permit).

If it is important to you have your taxes receipted by 12/31/17, please make sure they are in the Treasurer's office by 12/31/17.  Postmarks are not considered because it is not a due date. Full and/or half payments must be made by 1/31/18 to be considered a timely payment.
